Winter is almost over, we had our first snow of the year on Saturday.. we have had pretty decent weather, with temps in the 50's sometimes 60's throughout the day and 30's at night. The birds are very active, during the snow they were out there on the suet. This picture was taken while it was snowing, I bundled up in Camo, head band, gloves and boots and went to stand under a cedar tree out of the snow in our back yard.. the birds didn't even seem to see me there, then a red bellied woodpecker landed on the cedar trunk behind me. Would have made a great shot if I could have turned around without him seeing me, but he saw me.. I loaded some pictures that took during this year, hope you enjoy them!

Your first snow?! Wow, winter is almost over. I enjoyed your bird photo and your recipe for bark butter which I found on another blog (name escapes me at the moment).
ReplyDeleteOh the blog that had a link to your bark butter is

I just read your Welcome Page and see you are helping people like me ;-) I don't know a lot about birds but I like them and every now and then try to entice more of them to my small patio. It is a challenge because then the crows come too and squirrels and eat my small garden offerings.
yes it was our first snow of the year here in NC; thank you very much for commmenting.. I am glad this blog is a help to you and glad you enjoy the photos.. we have the same problem with squirrels, but we just give them peanuts and they stay off of the feeder.. ~Whitney
